Rehabilitation can help you take back your independence
Your recovery from a serious injury or illness might feel long and tiring. You can rely on our team at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center to help you regain strength after a hip replacement or concussion through carefully designed rehabilitation programs. Our services include physical, occupational and speech therapy – each at a level of care that fits your medical needs. As you make progress, you can continue your recovery through physical therapy and even hearing and driving rehabilitation at a nearby outpatient center.
Inpatient services
If you experience a medical emergency, our specialists will manage your most urgent health needs first. Once your condition improves, your care team may schedule physical, speech or occupational therapy services during your stay.
Outpatient services
Whether you have just gotten out of the hospital or are struggling with a chronic condition such as knee pain, you can receive a range of rehabilitation services at nearby outpatient centers. These locations offer important training and treatment that you can receive by appointment and sometimes practice at home.
The centers’ licensed, skilled therapists can provide rehabilitation services for:
- Knee or hip pain after joint replacement or orthopedic surgery
- Weakness or speech problems after a stroke
- Injuries related to active lifestyle or sports
- Challenges with bladder, bowel or reproductive system
- Back or neck pain
- Difficulty with speech or swallowing
- Weakness or other symptoms during or after cancer treatment
- Pain or weakness after hand surgery
- Discomfort with your wheelchair or scooter
You can also get high-quality services at two outpatient rehabilitation centers on the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center campus: the driving clinic and the hearing (audiology) clinic. You can relearn driving skills after head trauma or add special equipment to your car after an amputation with the help of our driving clinic specialists. And if you have lost all or part of your hearing due to illness, injury or age, our audiology clinic can offer you a number of services as well as custom products to help enhance your quality of life.
