Heart care close to home
Innovative heart care is coming closer to home with the opening of a new heart and vascular lab at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center in April. The lab will offer a variety of diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures that were previously only available at larger medical centers, including Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
At the center is a new catheterization lab, often called a “cath lab,” where imaging equipment helps doctors and other providers diagnose and treat patients. It includes eight patients rooms and many procedures have patients in and out the same day. It’s just the latest addition to Kernersville Medical Center as medical team focus on providing comprehensive care to the community.
