MOUNT AIRY, N.C. – Novant Health today officially welcomed Northern Regional Hospital, now known as Novant Health Northern Regional Medical Center, and its approximately 1,000 team members into its care network, marking an important milestone in expanding access to the latest in high-quality care for patients and families across Surry County.
“This is a significant step toward strengthening the future of healthcare in northwest North Carolina,” said Alisha Hutchens, senior vice president and president of Novant Health Triad Region. “Northern Regional Hospital has long served as the community’s hospital, where so many residents of Surry County and the surrounding area come to work and seek care, and we are honored to welcome the hospital and its dedicated team members to Novant Health. Together, we will build on its legacy of care by expanding access to primary, specialty and hospital-based services while delivering the remarkable care experiences our communities deserve.”
Since first opening its doors in 1957, Northern Regional Hospital has grown to become a 133-bed medical center, offering patients advanced imaging, laboratory, cardiology, maternity, orthopedic, surgical, skilled nursing and emergency services.
Patients can continue to receive care from the same physicians and clinics they know and trust, with no changes planned to the services currently available in the area. Looking ahead, Novant Health is developing plans to expand services at Novant Health Northern Regional Medical Center and throughout the community, building on the care already available to meet the evolving needs of patients and families across Surry County.
