I am a native of Charleston, West Virginia. Growing up, I was active in basketball, baseball, soccer and track. My enthusiasm for sports initially attracted me to orthopedics. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a biology degree. After medical school and residency at West Virginia University, I completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr Corey explained everything to me about having surgery and what to expect. He did not pressure me to give him an answer right away and advised me to call if I decided to have the surgery. He's a very good listener.

I felt the appointment was a bit abrupt, and at the end, I wasn't immediately sure it had concluded. While Dr. Corey provided recommendations, I left feeling that the next steps were largely on me, including finding another doctor for certain tests to help diagnose my issue.I recognize that my condition is uncommon, and I appreciate his expertise. That said, I would have valued a bit more guidance or support regarding next steps to help me navigate the process.
