I am a native of Charleston, West Virginia. Growing up, I was active in basketball, baseball, soccer and track. My enthusiasm for sports initially attracted me to orthopedics. I graduated from Wake Forest University with a biology degree. After medical school and residency at West Virginia University, I completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
