At Novant Health Pediatric Gastroenterology – Matthews, our goal is to accurately diagnose your child’s gastrointestinal issue or nutritional concern promptly, and develop a management or treatment plan that quickly lessens your child’s discomfort, and works not just for your child but for your whole family.

Should your child need a screening test or procedure, these are available at a number of convenient locations in the Charlotte area, and location and scheduling will be discussed with you prior to any appointment being made. Tests and procedures regularly ordered by our providers include:

  • Upper endoscopy/ EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy; a test to examine the upper digestive tract)
  • Colonoscopy (a test to examine the lower digestive tract)
  • Capsule endoscopy (a procedure that uses a very small wireless camera to take images of the digestive tract)
  • pH probe (a test to determine the pH, or acid, level of the digestive tract)
  • Bravo pH monitoring (a test to measure reflux symptoms)
  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement (feeding tube placed into the stomach)
  • Manual disimpaction (for constipation relief)
