We appreciate your interest in volunteering with us. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, the volunteer program at all Novant Health facilities has been temporarily suspended. Therefore, at this time, we are unable to invite volunteers to join our team. Your safety and the safety of our patients, loved ones and team members is our priority.
Potential Adult Volunteers: We invite you to complete an application. By doing so we have your information on file and can contact you when the suspension is lifted and we once again start the onboarding process of new volunteers. We look forward to getting to know you!
Potential Junior Volunteers (ages 14-18):
The 2020 Fall Program has been cancelled. The status of the 2021 Spring Program has not yet been determined. Please revisit this website in November, 2020 for updated information about the status of our Spring Program.
Give the gift of time by becoming a Novant Health volunteer
The Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center volunteers provide community service appreciated by everyone they encounter. Volunteers enjoy camaraderie of being with others who share a similar interest in serving people in a healthcare setting. We hope you’ll consider joining this special group.
We are seeking volunteers who have a heart for service, thrive in a team environment and have excellent customer service skills. Successful adult candidates can commit to at least one year of volunteer service (minimum 4-hour shift each week).
As a volunteer you may:
- Visit patients to ask about non-medical needs and offer emotional support
- Provide non-clinical assistance to various departments within the hospital
- Greet patients and visitors in our lobby areas
- Assist patients and visitors with directions and help them find their way
If you enjoy interacting with people and serving others, please consider volunteering at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center. Our volunteers know the rewards of helping others and making a difference in someone else's life.

Junior Volunteer Program
Our Junior Volunteer Program offers an opportunity for teens, ages 14 to 17 (9th – 12th grade), to serve after school and during the summer. Junior Volunteers can learn about healthcare by assisting staff, visitors and patients with non-medical tasks. Junior Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision and work independently.
2020 – 2021 Year Round Junior Volunteer Program
Applications for the Year Round Junior Volunteer Program are accepted between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31. The Year Round Junior Volunteer Program is comprised of three sessions that are each 10 weeks long.
The Fall Session is from September – November.
The Winter Session is from December – February.
The Spring Session is from March - May.
Shifts are weekdays after school and 2 hours long. We look for mature students who can make a reliable commitment of one shift per week. This is a highly competitive program and new volunteer spots are limited. To get started, please complete the Junior Volunteer Year Round Program Application [This link will be active from Aug. 1st to Aug. 31.]
For consideration, you must successfully complete all application steps and paperwork by stated deadlines. All applications will be reviewed. Completion of paperwork will not guarantee an interview. An invitation to interview will not guarantee placement.
