Wilmington is a great place to live and Novant Health NHRMC is an even better place to learn with a fantastic community of master surgical educators prepared to support generations of future surgeons.
Natalie Barnette, MD, General Surgery Resident, PGY-4
I chose Novant Health for its welcoming and familiar atmosphere, which I felt during my second look visit. Additionally, the opportunity to work in a large hospital with a diverse patient population is ideal for my professional growth and desire to serve a varied community.
Anthony Lledo, MD , Internal Medicine Resident, PGY-3
Everyone was extremely kind and welcoming! It is the optimal program because of the robust curriculum that will prepare you to be a full-scope family medicine doctor, while being in a smaller community setting that is very supportive. I also think Wilmington is an amazing place to do residency!
Laken O'Quinn, MD, Family Medicine Resident, PGY-2
I felt a very welcoming atmosphere the moment I met my new community in the healthcare system. Having that positive work environment means a lot to me.
Bassam Shawamreh, MD, Psychiatry Resident, PGY-2
I was looking for outstanding clinical training, meaningful connection to community, opportunities to care for diverse patient populations and a culture where I can be my authentic self and maintain a healthy work/life balance. From the moment I joined, I've known my family and I can flourish here.
Dario Vanegas, MD, Family Medicine Resident, PGY-2
I’m excited for the opportunity to train in a strong clinical environment while serving a diverse patient population. I’m especially interested in working with the military community at Camp Lejeune. I also appreciate the setting that supports both professional growth and life outside of medicine.
Allen Xu, DO, Psychiatry Resident, PGY-1
