A simpler, more affordable way to get the surgery you need
Novant Health is partnering with Carrum Health and Lantern Care to offer the Episodes of Care benefit to its employees.
These benefits may be called episodes of care, specialty care benefits or surgery support programs. Episodes of care bundles the full surgical experience for some elective procedures into one package that takes you from your first consultation through recovery. Designed to simplify the surgical experience, eligible procedures include clear, upfront pricing to make care easier to navigate and more affordable. In many cases, they cover all of the cost of surgery or offer care at a low, flat price.

1. Confirm your benefit access.
Speak with your employer’s benefits department and ask if you have access to surgical or specialty care benefits through Carrum Health, Lantern Care or Novant Health Episodes of Care.
2. Complete your employer’s enrollment steps.
Follow any instructions from your employer to ensure you are opted in and eligible to use the benefit.
3. Schedule your care.
Once enrolled, you will receive a referral to a participating Novant Health clinic, who will then contact you directly to schedule your consultation.
4. Get coordinated support.
Novant Health will work directly with Carrum Health or Lantern Care to streamline your experience and coordinate with your primary care team - even if they’re outside the Novant Health system.
