Financial Assistance
We are working to support you in managing healthcare costs.
At Novant Health, we are committed to improving the quality of life for the communities we serve. One way we help ensure remarkable care is through providing financial assistance for our patients demonstrating financial need. Assistance is available for medically necessary services if you meet eligibility guidelines under each of our Financial Assistance policies.
If you are eligible for financial assistance, you will receive a discount for services based on the policy guidelines.
Financial Assistance Policies
The following policies outline eligibility criteria for financial assistance and offer guidelines for the application process.
NC Financial Assistance
Includes North Carolina hospitals and provider-based clinics
NC Non-Provider Based Financial Assistance
Includes North Carolina non-provider based physician clinics and outpatient facilities
NC Non-Provider Based Policy
NC Non-Provider Based Policy (Spanish)
SC Financial Assistance
Includes South Carolina hospitals and outpatient radiology facilities
Guidelines & Support
In order to qualify for financial assistance, you must meet the criteria outlined in the applicable policy.
If you are eligible for financial assistance from Novant Health, you will need to apply by filling out the Financial Assistance application.
You may also obtain an application by:
- Visiting the Financial Services offices at any of the Novant Health facilities.
- Contacting Customer Service or any phone number provided in the contact list by facility.
- Signing into your MyChart account to access the application.

Once all requested documents are received:
- Your application will be reviewed.
- An approval or denial letter will be mailed.
- Documentation must be updated every six months, or when the patient's income or circumstances change.
- Each visit within the six-month period will be reviewed for potential access to other programs.

The following are exclusions to Novant Health’s Financial Assistance policy:
- The policy only applies to services rendered at a Novant Health facility.
- The policy does not apply to services rendered by any independent physicians or practitioners that are not employed by Novant Health. This includes, but is not limited to, anesthesiologists, radiologists and pathologists.

Visit the Financial Counseling office at any of Novant Health hospital locations to get an application or to get help with completing an application.

For NC facilities, you can also call Customer Service toll free and request a copy of the policy and an application be mailed to you.

MyChart
For NC patients, you can apply for financial assistance by signing into your MyChart account and completing the application.
