Emergency Services

If you or someone you know is experiencing a medical emergency, such as major head trauma, chest pain, severe abdominal pain, or loss of consciousness, you should go directly to the ER or call 911 immediately.

When should I go to the emergency room?

Children should be taken to the Emergency Department when:

  • Bleeding won’t stop
  • Broken bone (out of skin)
  • Seizure
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Severe head injury
  • Fainting or loss of consciousness
  • Skin turning blue (lips, skin, fingers)
  • Suspected poisoning
  • Traumatic injuries

If you’re unsure about the severity of your child’s condition it’s always best to err on the side of caution and seek emergency medical attention.
