What is Arthrex VIP?

Arthrex VIP is a virtual implant positioning system used to plan shoulder replacement surgery, also called shoulder arthroplasty. It uses CT imaging to create a 3D model of your shoulder before surgery. Your surgeon uses this model to map out implant size, placement and positioning ahead of time.

This type of shoulder arthroplasty planning may be recommended for patients preparing for shoulder replacement surgery, particularly when precise implant positioning is important due to bone shape, prior injury or joint wear. Your orthopedic surgeon will let you know if this planning approach fits your treatment plan.
