Medicine is my second career. After a time working in college athletics, I realized I felt unfulfilled and decided to pursue nursing. I shadowed a nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit. When I saw the difference she was making for her patients, I was hooked. I spent almost four years as a pediatric nurse, and two years working as a nurse in an ambulatory surgery center.
