About

A family medical crisis sparked my interest in medicine. During my time at the University of California - Davis, my brother was in a serious car accident he was not expected to survive. He spent six months in the hospital and in rehabilitation, and I took a semester off to help. Spending time in the ICU, I was fascinated by the intensity and teamwork involved in critical care. Thankfully, my brother made a full recovery, but my desire to intervene in life-threatening situations had taken hold.

Dr. Yakel is a good provider & listener. He did not hurry in order to answer my questions. He & team directed & guided a Stent to my main heart artery on May 11 which was 90% blocked. Great Teamwork.
