Dr Shaffer is an extraordinary surgeon and oncologist. She is also an excellent clinician who can quickly assess her patient's needs in other areas as well. Her strength is in her knowledge of the many medical disciplines and support services offered in the Novant health system. In my particular instance, she reviewed my family's cancer history and recommended genetic testing. Having found that I am a carrier, my family and I will be given more frequent screening/testing. I'm grateful to Dr Shaffer for her commitment both to myself and the future of my family's health.
