As a child, I loved figure skating. Being on the ice made me so happy, but it also led to my share of injuries. I spent time seeing an orthopedic doctor, which helped me heal and exposed me to the power of medicine. I became fascinated by the field, and the way I could one day help people. That eventually led me to pursue medicine as a career.
