WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four Novant Health hospitals have been named a “Best Hospital for Maternity Care,” by Money, formerly known as Money Magazine. Money partnered with The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization that collects and publishes data on patient safety and quality to publish its inaugural list.
Approximately 259 hospitals qualified for the list, earning an A or B letter grade on the 2022 Spring Leapfrog Hospital Safety grades assessment. Hospitals were also required to meet criteria specific to providing maternity care, including meeting The Leapfrog Group’s standard for early elective deliveries; cesarean births; episiotomies; deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis; bilirubin screening and high-risk deliveries. The recognized Novant Health maternity hospitals are:
- Novant Health Matthews Medical Center
- Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center
- Novant Health Rowan Medical Center
- Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
