Novant Health is now accepting volunteer applications from anyone who is fully vaccinated and at least 14 years old. Volunteers will support various non-clinical tasks in our acute care facilities, clinics and ambulatory surgery centers.

If you are a previous volunteer and interested in returning to volunteer, please contact your Volunteer Services department to inquire about the possibility of current, available positions.  Volunteers must have completed their COVID vaccination(s).

If you’re interested in performing valuable community service in a healthcare environment, please consider becoming a NHMHMC volunteer. By joining our team, you will have a vital role in helping others.

Our volunteers provide community service that is valued by team members, guests and many others. Giving your time and talents as a volunteer also creates opportunities to enjoy camaraderie with others who share an interest in serving in a healthcare setting.

No prior experience is required. As a new volunteer, you will receive training before your assignment begins.

We are currently seeking volunteers who have excellent customer service skills and are able to commit to at least 100 hours of volunteer service per year. Most volunteers provide a minimum of one four-hour shift per week.

We are currently in need of:

Lobby and lounge ambassadors
Welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the guest services lobby and surgical services lounge. Ambassadors provide information and directions and also give updates to family and friends waiting during a loved one’s procedure. Must enjoy talking with people and walking. Hours vary between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.

Golf cart driver
You will have an opportunity to create a remarkable ride for visitors. Must be 18 years old with a valid driver’s license. Hours vary between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Gift shop ambassador
Provide cheerful customer assistance in our retail area. Hours vary between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Emergency room volunteer
Greet and welcome guests and help make patients more comfortable as they wait in the emergency room. Hours will vary.
