Jenna Cormier, MD
Hometown: California
Education: Medical College of Wisconsin
Favorite thing about moving to or living in Wilmington: I chose Wilmington for its robust inpatient training, its diverse and dynamic patient population, and the warmth and beauty of the community. From the moment I got to know the program, I could picture myself growing into a confident, well-rounded psychiatrist here. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the beach is nearby!
Hobbies and interests: Outside of medicine, I stay busy (and happy) hiking with my partner and our two dogs, Jax and Roo, especially when we're exploring new trails. I am slowly working toward my goal of visiting every national park in the U.S. I've been riding horses for most of my life, and it is one of the biggest ways I stay grounded. I also love diving into a good book (currently tackling The Lord of the Rings trilogy), lifting weights, playing board games, rolling dice with my weekly Dungeons & Dragons group, and, when time allows, taking a much-deserved afternoon nap.

Kimberly Dodd, MD
Hometown: Maine
Education: Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences
Favorite thing about moving to or living in Wilmington: Choosing Wilmington for my residency was an easy decision, primarily due to the unique training opportunity offered by its combined civilian-military psychiatry program, which promised an incredibly broad range of experiences. Beyond the exceptional professional prospects, every single person I met during my audition rotation was so friendly and welcoming that it immediately made me feel at home. This genuine warmth and the program's distinctive nature truly invited me to become a part of the Wilmington community.
Hobbies and interests: I enjoy a diverse array of hobbies, from the creative outlets of reading, quilting, and knitting, to more active pursuits like snorkeling, weightlifting, and swimming. When winter arrives, I also love to hit the slopes for some snowboarding.
Ian Finnegan, DO

Favorite thing about moving to or living in Wilmington: I chose NHRMC because it seems to be a place where you can practice in a small community while still being at a hospital with high volume, resources and a culture of practicing psychiatry at a high level.
Hobbies and interests: I enjoy dirt biking, jiu jitsu, architecture, and reading.

Bassam Shawamreh, MD
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Education: University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill School of Medicine
Favorite thing about moving to or living in Wilmington: I chose Wilmington because my family and I absolutely fell in love with this city. The abundant shores, the culture and hospitality, the authenticity of people in the community, the fascinating neighborhood demographics - it was all so clearly a great fit for me. Additionally, I felt a very welcoming atmosphere the moment I met my new community in the healthcare system, and having that positive work environment means a lot to me.
Hobbies and interests: Personally, I enjoy singing grunge, playing video games, going on walks, studying spirituality, and spending time with my loved ones. Professionally, I aspire to help people with mental illness to overcome their struggles in long-term ways, maximizing joy and purpose, and minimizing suffering.

Haden Tobola, DO
Hometown: Texas
Education: Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine
Favorite thing about moving to or living in Wilmington: One of the things that drew me to Wilmington is the unique balance it offers between the charm of a small town and the amenities of a larger city. It has a close-knit, welcoming community where people know and support each other, which creates a sense of belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. At the same time, Wilmington has a vibrant downtown and easy access to the beach—both of which I look forward to exploring during residency.
Hobbies and interests: Outside of medicine, I prioritize staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy weightlifting and working out regularly. I also love spending time with friends, especially going to the movies or participating in game nights!
