Curriculum

The Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program is a four-year training program fully approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Our program's size is ideal for extensive interaction between faculty and residents.

Resident rotations during the four years include Obstetrics, Gynecology and the subspecialties including Reproductive Endocrinology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (including perinatal genetics), Gynecologic Oncology and Urogynecology, as well as primary care. The residency includes a continuity of care format in the ambulatory setting.

The OB/GYN didactic curriculum is conducted principally on Resident Education Days which is protected education time from noon until 5 p.m. each Wednesday and also on Friday mornings from 7:30-8:30 a.m. These sessions are conducted by visiting professors, as well as department faculty and private attending physicians.

In addition to the resident education days' activities, High-Risk Conference is held weekly and Tumor Board and GYN Tumor Board are held monthly. An institution wide core curriculum includes ethics, life-long learning, the physician as teacher and communicator, personal and professional development, medicolegal issues and medical practice issues.
