Opened in 1997 and thoughtfully designed to model the ideal family medicine practice, the 14,000-square-foot Novant Health Family Medicine - Wilmington offers exam rooms, modern procedure rooms, as well as:
- Dedicated osteopathic manipulative medicine rooms
- Counseling room for behavioral health integration
- Spacious resident work area
- Dedicated precepting space
All residents train using leading-edge technology and a fully integrated electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring continuity of learning and patient care.
Black River Health Services (rural track)
Community-driven, mission-focused rural health
Serving Pender County and the surrounding rural areas, Black River Health Services is a non-profit, full-spectrum family medicine practice. It’s a key site for our rural family medicine residency track, where residents work closely with:
- Migrant and seasonal farm workers
- A high number of Spanish-speaking patients
- Community health partners like Manos Unidas

Betty H. Cameron Women's & Children's Hospital is a leading-edge, 195,000-square-foot facility located within New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Since opening in 2008, it has provided comprehensive, compassionate family-centered care for our region's women and children in a supportive and technologically advanced environment.
