About the Provider

Dr. Angermeier has called Charleston home for over 20 years. After completing the prestigious hand fellowship program at Duke University, he was recruited back to Charleston and served five years on the hand surgery faculty at MUSC. There he achieved the most advanced level of Board Certification for Hand Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, built a comprehensive hand and wrist surgery practice, developed innovative techniques through research, and helped to educate future hand surgeons. Dr. Angermeier then went on to co-found Hand Institute of Charleston with the philosophy that the highest possible quality of care could be achieved by assembling a world-class team that focuses exclusively on disorders of the hand and wrist. He offers highly specialized and customized operative and nonoperative treatment options for chronic hand and wrist problems, and also for injuries of the hand and wrist. He has a particular interest in minimally-invasive and opiod-sparing techniques. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, and fishing.
