Appointments
You and your baby can make an appointment to see an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in our clinic by calling us during office hours. Our IBCLCs are here for you even if you gave birth at a non-Novant Health hospital or are receiving primary care from a provider outside the Novant Health system.
Please remember to bring your baby hungry and ready to eat! Plan to be done with your feeding prior to your appointment two hours before your appointment time. Seeing your baby feed when hungry will allow us to see your baby feed and assess how much milk your baby is consuming. And we are used to crying babies, so do not worry if your baby is crying in our clinic!
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends every breastfeeding new mother and newborn have a breastfeeding consultation three to five days after hospital discharge. You can also see a lactation consultant in our clinic before your baby is born. However, we advise that you confirm insurance coverage before scheduling a prenatal breastfeeding consultation.
