If you live outside of Mecklenburg County, your healthcare provider or social worker can submit a request for lodging at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte on your behalf. A request does not guarantee room availability. Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte does not reserve rooms or accept reservations. Once your referral has been submitted, call the hospitality services director (704-288-5318) at least one day before you plan to arrive to find out if a room is available. Please understand that Ronald McDonald House has its own criteria and qualifications, so acceptance for services may vary according.

When visiting the Elizabeth area, you’ll have options for diversions. These are a few ideas for spending time outside of the hospital with the siblings of patients.

Independence Park
The 19-acre public park, at 300 Hawthorne Lane, has areas for walking, plus a rose garden and pond.

Travel by streetcar
Stops for the free CityLynx Gold Line are located just outside Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. From there, you can walk or connect to the Lynx Blue Line for a short trip to these destinations:

  • ImaginOn: A youth destination located at 300 E. Seventh St., in the heart of uptown Charlotte. This collaborative effort between the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is a 102,000-square-foot facility recently ranked by as the No. 1 children’s library in the United States.
