If you find yourself tossing and
turning, the sleep specialists at Novant Health Forsyth Medical
Center can help. We offer advanced technology for the diagnosis and
treatment of more than 700 types of sleep conditions, and we are
nationally recognized as a Center of Excellence for sleep care. Using
our expertise in sleep science, we will work with you to create a
treatment plan to help you sleep better, feel better and live better.
Sleep clinic
Your treatment will begin at Novant Health Neurology & Sleep. In our clinic, a sleep specialist will assess your
symptoms and sleeping habits. You may be asked to complete a sleep
questionnaire, keep a sleep diary or undergo a brief physical exam.
Once your sleep needs are identified, a preliminary diagnosis will be
made and a course of treatment will be recommended.
Sleep center
In some cases a sleep study will be
needed to gather more information. This is done overnight in a
private room in our sleep lab, which is located in Forsyth Medical Center. During an overnight stay, a trained sleep
technician will monitor your heart, brain and breathing while you
sleep. Based on the results of your sleep study, we will recommend
the most appropriate treatment to address your needs.
Our sleep centers are designed with
your comfort in mind. You will have a private bedroom, bathroom and
shower. Our staff will be available at all times to ensure your needs
are addressed. We suggest you prepare as you would anytime you spend
the night away from home. You can even bring your own pillow.
