When you arrive at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, we want your stay to be as easy and comfortable as possible. Your first step before any inpatient or outpatient procedure is to visit our admitting department, which is staffed with helpful and knowledgeable registrars who can help you complete the necessary paperwork while answering any questions you may have.

What should I bring?

You may want to bring the following items for your stay: Insurance card, a list of your current medications, sleepwear, robe, slippers, grooming items (comb, toothbrush), eyeglasses and case, contacts and containers, dentures and containers. Keep in mind that even through our hospital professionals will take every reasonable precaution with personal belongings, Forsyth Medical Center cannot be responsible for loss or damage of personal items.

Patient dining

Your physician will develop a diet for you that complements your medical care. A menu will be delivered on your tray each morning from which to make your selections. If you would like nutritional information about your diet, your physician or nurse may request services from our registered dietitian/nutritionist. Meals are served between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.


To safeguard your treatment, medications from home should not be brought to the hospital. Patients are not permitted to keep medications at the bedside.

Outpatient pharmacy

We provide a pharmacy in our lobby so that you can quickly and easily fill your prescriptions. It carries a large supply of quality pharmaceuticals and common over-the-counter products at great prices. Our state-of-the-art technology improves the safety of our prescription-filling process and decreases the time that you have to wait for your prescription to be filled.
