Novant Health has made the careful decision to postpone most in-person CME activities until further notice. However, many reoccurring series and conferences have been transitioned to live virtual meetings using Zoom. Novant Health provides quality healthcare services and maintains the foundation that supports continuing medical education (CME). The Novant Health Office of Continuing Medical Education (NHOCME) offers high-quality and balanced educational activities that enable healthcare professionals, primarily physicians, and nursing professionals to advance the provision of quality patient care and best practice standards. Participants receive education that promotes professional growth resulting in improved competence, performance and patient outcomes.

In 2019 the Novant Health CME Office certified 110 activities providing over 1490 hours of instruction to over 17,400 physicians and 9,700 other healthcare providers, encompassing a broad range of learning methods.

Novant Health is accredited by the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) to provide CME for physicians. The NHOCME issues AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and adheres to NCMS and ACCME standards regarding industry support of CME.
