How to accredit a Novant Health activity

Novant Health Office of Continuing Medical Education

Novant Health provides quality healthcare services and maintains the foundation that supports continuing medical education (CME). The Novant Health Office of Continuing Medical Education (NHOCME) offers high-quality and balanced educational activities that enable healthcare professionals, primarily physicians, and nursing professionals to advance the provision of quality patient care and best practice standards. Participants receive education that promotes professional growth resulting in improved competence, performance and patient outcomes.

In 2018 the Novant Health CME Office certified 110 activities providing over 1,400 hours of instruction to over 17,800 physicians and 13,500 advanced practice clinicians, encompassing a broad range of learning methods.

 Nursing education

​Corporate Education and Training is committed to serving the needs of the Novant Health nursing professionals and staff with the skills and knowledge that promotes continuous learning, professional growth, and enhanced job performance in order to deliver a remarkable patient experience. Nursing courses aim to develop and link educational opportunities to team member for maintaining and acquiring knowledge and skills.

Novant Health is accredited by the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) to provide CME for physicians. The NHOCME issues AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and adheres to NCMS and ACCME standards regarding industry support of CME.
