We appreciate your interest in volunteering with us. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, the volunteer program at all Novant Health facilities has been temporarily suspended. Therefore, at this time, we are unable to invite volunteers to join our team. Your safety and the safety of our patients, loved ones and team members is our priority.
Potential Adult Volunteers: We invite you to complete an application. By doing so we have your information on file and can contact you when the suspension is lifted and we once again start the onboarding process of new volunteers. We look forward to getting to know you!
Potential Junior Volunteers (ages 14-18):
The 2020-2021 School Year Program has been cancelled. The status of the 2021 Summer Program has not yet been determined. Please revisit this website January 1, 2021 to submit applications for our Junior Volunteer Summer Program.
Our volunteers make a huge difference
Visit Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center and you'll notice some of our many volunteers helping out.
Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center volunteers provide an invaluable community service that is appreciated by everyone they encounter. The also enjoy camaraderie with others who share the same interest in serving people in our healthcare setting. We hope you’ll consider joining this special group. No experience is necessary.
As a volunteer you’ll help to present the friendly, caring face we’re know for by assisting patients and visitors in many ways, including:
- Greeting patients and visitors in our main lobby and emergency room
- Transporting patients throughout the hospital

Our Junior Volunteer Program offers an opportunity for teens, ages 14 to 18 (must have completed the 8th grade – just graduated from high school), to serve during the summer. Our teen volunteers are trained and supervised by a Volunteer Coordinator and they perform many of the same duties as adult volunteers.
Junior Volunteers can learn about health care by assisting staff, visitors and patients with non-medical tasks. Junior Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision and work independently. We are looking for mature students who can make a reliable commitment of two back-to-back shifts one day a week for the summer program.
All Junior Volunteers for the greater Winston-Salem area are processed through the Forsyth Medical Center Volunteer Office. Applicants can request to be placed at any greater Winston-Salem area Novant Health location.
Applications for the summer program are accepted between January 1 - February 23, 2018. Early or late submissions will not be accepted. To apply to be a Junior Volunteer for the summer program, please submit the online application located on Forsyth Medical Center’s volunteer page.
