Start with weight loss surgery seminars.

Our free weight loss seminars and support groups are an excellent first step if you're considering bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgeons, nurse practitioners and other trained team members provide comprehensive education. They'll answer any questions on what to expect before, during and after surgery. After attending a weight loss surgery seminar, you'll understand:

  • Your bariatric surgery options
  • Whether you're a candidate for bariatric surgery
  • Necessary lifestyle adjustments before and after surgery
  • The recovery process
  • What to expect in the first year
  • How to set realistic weight loss goals and sustain them
  • Pre- and post-operative resources and support we offer

Weight loss surgery seminars are held online and in-person at our ACS-accredited weight loss clinic locations across North Carolina.

Feel support before, during and after surgery

If you are considered a candidate for bariatric surgery, you will receive an evaluation to understand how your emotions and behavior have contributed to weight gain. You also will work with a dietitian to learn healthy eating habits. Our medical teams offer behavioral health assessments at locations where weight-loss services are available. Behavioral health services can include:

  • Individual counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Monthly support groups
  • Psychological testing in bariatric surgery program
  • Location specific Mindful Eating and Back on Track classes

Follow up visits with the counselor can be the difference between staying on track and losing focus. You don’t have to do this alone.
