About the Residency Program
Novant Health’s RN new grad residency program allows new graduate RNs the time to gradually assume the duties and responsibilities that accompany the nursing role here at Novant Health. We are proud the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Accreditation Program awarded our nurse residency program accreditation with distinction, the highest recognition awarded. With this recognition, Novant Health's nurse residency program becomes the 133rd system in the world to receive this honor and the second in North Carolina.
Unlike many six-month programs, ours is a comprehensive, twelve-month program designed to fully prepare and transition you and your career into a professional practice through:
- Interactive learning sessions
- A guided preceptorship
- Compassionate mentors
- Socialization opportunities
- A personalized development plan
A unique aspect to our program includes a rotation component. During your first year, you have the option to rotate every 12 weeks up to 4 rotations within your specialty to different units in the hospital or market you are hired into. This time allows you to experience different patient populations/ settings and find your perfect fit as a Novant Health nurse.
Novant Health’s program allows you the opportunity to gain the confidence and experience you need to transition to practice successfully!
