When your child is in the hospital, we understand that it can be a stressful time for families. We offer support and resources designed to help you during this time so you can focus on your child and helping them heal.
Child Life Programs
Our Child Life specialists support patients and families to help reduce the stress and anxiety of being in the hospital. Our specialists can help explain medical treatments to your children in a way they can understand and use therapies to help your child relax including pet and music therapy.

SECU Family House
The SECU Family House at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's doors are open to patients' family and loved ones from outside of New Hanover County. For a nominal fee, guests of patients being cared for at the hospital can stay at the facility — located a short distance from the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital — with access to lodging, showers and a place to prepare meals.
