As a member of the Board of Trustees, you play a critical role in sustaining a culture of safety. Patient safety is both a core organizational value and a governance responsibility.
Aligned with national expectations, including the CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM), safety priorities, metrics, and improvement efforts must remain visible within strategy, oversight, resource allocation, and accountability.
The First, Do No Harm education provides foundational learning on safety principles and reinforces the Board’s role in oversight and support of continuous improvement toward highly reliable care.
