Imaging Appointments
How to prepare for your imaging appointment.
Most diagnostic imaging procedures must be recommended by your healthcare provider and ordered by a physician. Your provider’s staff can assist you with setting up an appointment, or you can contact Novant Health radiology scheduling for assistance with getting an appointment at one of our locations near you. Screening mammograms are an exception. You can schedule those without a physician’s order.
It is important for you to keep your scheduled appointment. If an emergency prevents you from arriving on time, please call our scheduling team as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule. This will prevent unnecessary delays for all of our patients.
Documents to bring
Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes before your appointment to allow time for completing your paperwork. Please bring the following documents to your appointment:
- Requisition/order form — the form completed by your physician to order an exam for you.
- Insurance cards — make sure your cards are current for the date of service.
- Contact information — bring contact information for the person responsible for paying the cost of services you will receive.
- Payment — typically required on the date services are provided if the cost of your visit will not be covered by an insurance plan. If you have an insurance plan, bring your copay and a payment toward your deductible or coinsurance; your insurance plan determines the amount of these fees. Our team will call your insurance company to get an estimate of the amount you will owe at the time of your procedure. Please remember this is just an estimate. The final payment owed will be determined after your insurance company processes your claim. We accept personal checks, cash and money orders, as well as VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. Financial assistance, based on need, may be available.
