Training

Dimensions Acute training is a prerequisite to medical staff membership and caring for patients whose information is entered into Dimensions at the Novant Health facilities that are part of wave 3. If you plan on caring for patients at your facility after the wave 3 go-live on March 14, 2015, you must complete Dimensions Acute training. On Mar. 14, all medical staff members at any wave 3 Novant Health facility will be placed on administrative leave of absence pending resignation from the facilities' medical staffs.

Please note the following information about training:

  • Training registration opens on Monday, Nov. 10 in NetLearning

If you are an independent provider or practice manager of an independent provider: in addition to the above requirements to access Dimensions, by March 14, you need to have both Dimensions Direct and Novant Health (NH) Link to access Dimensions from your practice.

1. NH Link replaces NetAccess for your office staff - it provides your staff an improved ease of access to patient information currently available in NetAccess.
2. Dimensions Direct enables providers to connect securely to Dimensions without PhoneFactor authentication (and delays) - it also provides your physicians the same ease of access and functionality as being on the nursing unit itself.

You must register for both NH Link and Dimensions Direct BEFORE MARCH 14, 2015. These are both MUST-HAVES.

  • To apply for NH Link:
    • Please select this link: https://nhlink.mynovant.org/EpicLink/common/account_request_main.asp, then select 'Request access for a new site' and follow the instructions
    • Questions about access requests can be sent to nhlink@novanthealth.org - the security process to link physicians to office staff and related patients is involved and can take several days, and NH Link must be set up by Mar. 14
    • Invitations to instructional NH Link webinars is forthcoming.
  • To apply for Dimensions Direct:
    • Access the Dimensions Direct request form
    • Specific directions and support contact information are provided on the form - if you have an IT specialist for your practice, you may need their assistance in completing the application.
    • Please note:
      • No training is needed for Dimensions Direct - this will be an icon on your desktop which will directly open Dimensions (upon completion of physician training)
      • Dimensions Direct is not a connection that supports access from home - however, two-factor authentication (PhoneFactor) is available for secure access to Dimensions from home and Novant Health medical staff are registered for PhoneFactor automatically
