My two concerns: it was only after I commented that there had to be some way of applying topical numbing to the area being injected, that the PA said that she could use a spray that would help "freeze" the spot. This was shocking to me and disappointing since I told her hiw painful my first experiences were.

She showed genuine concern for our questions and worries, took the time to explain Andrew's condition clearly, and ensured we fully understood the reasons behind each step of her proposed followup treatments. Her compassion, clarity, and professionalism made a tremendous difference for Andrew, who certainly felt that his concerns were heard and going to be met.
