R. Alan Goins, MD, is originally from the Carolinas, but grew up in Orlando, Florida. Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Goins taught high school science for two years and even piloted a submarine at Walt Disney World. After serving in the Air Force for seven years in San Antonio, Dr. Goins and his family moved to Charlotte in 2002.
