My father was an OB/GYN. As the oldest of four, I was very aware of Dad's career and what it meant to him. I made the choice early in life to follow him into medicine.

Now, as an orthopedic surgeon, I provide patients with personalized care that's best suited to their needs - and that may or may not include surgery.

Dr. Schaeffer has been exceptional throughout the past seven month; friendly, professional, compassionate. He gave me his cell number on day one and was quick to respond to any concerns or questions I had. My hip replacement went very well, but became infected about a month later. He went above and beyond to give me excellent care, keep me and my husband fully informed through the surgery, hospital stay and post-surgery. I can't say enough good things about him.

The doctor was very understanding and clearly explained what is likely or not to happen with my issue. Since I am 91, that was most important to me.I didn't think a 91-year-old would be eligible for surgery. Is that correct?
