For nearly 50 years, my mother was a nurse in OB-GYN surgery. She inspired me, from the time I was very young, to pursue a career in the medical profession. I was a respiratory therapist for 10 years and, during that time, my love for medicine grew and has led me back to my hometown to provide care to my community.
