Growing up in a small town in eastern North Carolina, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity and thyroid issues were prevalent in my community. From a young age, I saw how those issues impacted people's lives and overall well-being. I wanted to help address these issues and saw that becoming an endocrinologist was the best way to effect change.
