I was born and raised in south Florida. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Florida and my medical degree at the University of Central Florida. I traded Florida's hot summers for Chicago's famously cold winters when I went on to complete my neurology residency and a clinical multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunology fellowship at the University of Chicago.
