My path to medicine began with two deeply personal experiences. When my husband had a heart attack and open heart surgery while in his 30s, I fell in love with medicine, and that became the start of my journey as an intensive care nurse. A few years later, my father fell ill and became an ICU patient. That experience pushed me to become a nurse practitioner.
