Midway through my college career, I realized I didn't want to be a chemist. But my chemistry major proved useful when I decided that what I really wanted to do was take care of people. I didn't want to work in a lab; I wanted to work with - and help - people. Rather than go to grad school for chemistry, I applied to medical school.
