I've always felt a strong calling to practice medicine. That calling led me to specialize in endocrinology, a field that allows me to care for patients with a variety of hormone-related conditions, including thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders, as well as osteoporosis. While I enjoy all aspects of endocrinology, I have a special passion for the treatment of diabetes.

I love Dr. Rivera Markelova. She was the first person to explain my cancer in a way that I could understand and I had been dealing with this for a year before coming to her. She drew out a picture of my thyroid and explained where my cancer spots were and the risks/nonrisks. She NEVER dismissed any of my concerns and anxiety. She even read a study I found online and provided me great feedback to help my anxiety. Again, she is a great personable doctor that seems to really care about her patients. And as a new cancer patient, this is extremely important.
