Pediatric medicine is in my DNA.
My grandfather was a Charlotte-area pediatrician, and I often meet people around town who tell me he took care of them when they were growing up. I coached kids' lacrosse for years before medical school and worked for a time at a nonprofit pediatric clinic in Nicaragua.
