She took her time and made me very comfortable. I've had many exams American over my many years and she was excellent. Gentle and caring in this awkward situation that most women dread.

She seemed nice but I was insulted when she didn't ask me if I was active but rather assumed that due to my weight I was not when I am very active in the gym 5-6 times per week and have other issues causing weight to be elevated. She didn't ask me questions I had been asked in the past but focused on weight and not OB things. I had a better experience with the Midwife I saw prior.

I was asked to schedule labs but she didn't explain what labs I needed and when I showed up for the appointment there were no labs requested in the system. Also, I don't feel like I got any explanation of what everything meant or what options there were for getting more information.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Van Kooten - she listens, she cares, and she establishes trust.
