I was born and raised in rural Vietnam, where I saw family members fall ill from preventable diseases - an experience that shaped my early understanding of health disparities. My mother, a biology teacher, fostered my love for science, and I eventually realized that medicine offered a way to combine this interest with my desire to serve others.
