I felt minimized. I felt my concerns were not addressed. I was told he did not have time as he had 3 days of Patients to catch up with. I felt both at this visit and my last that the computer and charting were more important than my condition and concerns with potential treatments and side effects. I left angry, Feeling minimized and frustrated. Having cancer regardless of what stage Is emotionally exhausting. It takes a good caring and empathetic person to choose this profession. I have requested a change to my oncologist.

I have been on this journey with Dr. Kotz for 8 years. I trust him to make the best decisions for my treatment. There is no substitute for him.

Dr. Kotz is an A+ physician

He told my mom about her response to her current treatment but spoke mostly like he was talking to another medical professional (some parts were difficult to understand). He also let her know about 3 directions she could take in her treatment plan but didn't ask her what she wanted to do. He just told her what he recommended in detail. He asked my mom about her concerns but didn't really address her concerns about her recent decline in memory or her recent increase in pain in her rectal/lower spine area. He asked but didn't address the issues.

Dr Kotz is a great physician. He is very knowledgeable and seems to be on top of changing medicine and new treatments. Informs me of my options with details.

Under Doctor kotz care since 2007,he chose the best for me, hate to see him retire.

Every person I dealt with from doctors to staff were professional and courteous. Dr Kotz consulting with Dr Fillion before my appointment was awesome. I called Dr Fillion today her assistant Abby took my information since Dr was in surgery. She took care of my needs called back updating me.

This was my first experience with Dr. Kotz and the Novant (Zimmer) Cancer Center. My condition is very serious, and involves much personal and family concern regarding my odds of survival and the quality of life for the time I have remaining. I must say that my wife and I left our first visit feeling relieved, informed, and confident that we are in the best possible hands as we move forward with treatment. We are extremely happy and optimistic. Our doc and his staff are terrific (professionally and personally), and the expediency and communication regarding scheduling and logistics has been great!

This was my first visit to this facility, provider and medical team. I was impressed by the professionalism of the team involved. Also, the quick response to a question asked afterwards on “my chart”.

Scheduling should inquire what time’s future appointment would work best for patients. This would be more practical than always having to call and switch times.
