Allana went above and beyond and took the time to give additional useful explanations of health matters. She also suggested taking a probiotic for a month since I had had quite a bit of antibiotics in the hospital which are working well.

I didn't see the doctor - you cannot get in to see her for four months or more, so that's why I said "no" to the one provider question. This appointment was not the best Novant experience I have had. I have always seen the actual doctor at an appointment, especially an initial one. But you cannot get in to see this provider for four months? That's a compliment to her but perhaps they shouldn't be taking new patients until that appointment window can be improved. They were critical of my last provider because I wasn't given 12 months notice that he was leaving - neither of us knows why that might be so that seemed pointless. I don't think it's a big deal that I was about a month late for my annual physical (because my other provider left Novant), but it seemed like one. And I've never had a medical professional tell me that if I didn't make an eye exam before I came in again, the doctor might not refill my diabetes medication. That was startling and felt unneccesarily adversarial. All of the information that I was given was accurate - I have no complaint about that - and everyone was polite. I just don't know if this office is going to be the right fit for me based on this initial appointment.
