Both my maternal grandparents died in their 50s of heart disease. I remember, from a young age, reflecting on how unfair that was and wanting to do something to change it. In college, I discovered an interest in epidemiology and hemodynamics. Cardiology is the field that best marries these two interests.

Dr Swiger is a role model for connecting with the patient from first moment to last. Shook my hand on entry to exam room and maintained good eye contact throughout the visit; when he and I began speaking at same time, he waved me to continue; his explanations were clear, concise and stated in plain language; he shook hands at the conclusion of the visit and instead of sending me home to see the visit summary on the portal, he let me know he was going to step out of the room and brought me the copy of the visit summary ( this last was very impressive!), and let me know if I have further need, please be in contact. You need to brag about him as he's quite wonderful!
