I went into medicine because of my mother. My mother is a nurse, and when I was little, she would tell me stories about her days at work. Those stories inspired me to go into medicine as well, so like her, I could help people each day. I became a family nurse practitioner after working as a nurse in the orthopedic trauma and cardiology specialties.
