Went in to have my IUD removed because my husband and I are excitedly starting our journey to conceive. Unfortunately, this appointment left me feeling hurt, dismissed, and emotionally drained instead of supported during what should have been a joyful milestone.The doctor did not introduce herself when she entered the room. She performed the removal without explaining what to expect afterward (bleeding, cramping, fertility return, etc.) and gave no after-care instructions. When I brought up my need for methylated prenatal vitamins due to my MTHFR status, she became defensive rather than educational or collaborative. I asked if she would follow me for prenatal care once I'm pregnant, and her response was a curt "Just call us when you have a positive test," with no warmth or interest in building that relationship. Not to mention she failed to help with any of my other concerns which was clearly outlined on my referral. Most shockingly, after the procedure was finished, she stood up and walked out of the room while my legs were still in the stirrups-without saying a word that it was over or that I could get dressed. As a healthcare provider myself, I've never witnessed such a complete lack of basic bedside manner, respect, or human decency.I wish I had checked reviews beforehand; many others describe the exact same cold, rushed, and dismissive experience. This practice turned one of the most exciting appointments of my life into something traumatic. I will not be returning and strongly caution anyone-especially those trying to conceive-who wants to feel heard, respected, and cared for.
